Barren No More

"Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests." - Ephesians 6:18

When we meet Hannah in 1 Samuel 1, we find her in the temple of the Lord, pouring out her heart to God. The Bible says she was in bitterness of soul and prayed to the Lord and wept much. Hannah was unable to have children, and her physical barrenness had become intolerable to her.

As she poured out her heart to God, she was completely oblivious of how she appeared to others. Eli the priest thought she was drunk.  But God answered Hannah's prayer for a child and she became the mother of Samuel.

I wonder how long it has been since you and I prayed like that because of our spiritual barrenness. I believe that one of the secrets to a fruitful Christian life is to become so fed up with our fruitless life that we will approach the Lord on our knees and pour out our hearts to Him in prayer. Amen!

We often pray for other reasons -- when we face financial difficulty, when a cherished relationship is in trouble, when our physical health fails. Out of our personal anguish we will fall on our faces and pour out our souls to God. But will we do it because of our lack of spiritual fruit?  Only if God so convicts us that it produces a genuine grief of soul.

Christian , when we begin praying for God to use us and make us fruitful for His glory, something wonderful is going to happen - - try it - - prove our God!  He is faithful!

Prayer
"Lord, create in me a grief for my lack of spiritual fruit. Amen."

Do I have a personal longing for the salvation of souls? Lord, Jesus, do not allow me to lay my head on my pillow tonight unless I share with "whosoever" Your  life cleansing blood.

There's Power In The Blood
  1. Would you be free from your burden of sin?
      There’s power in the blood, power in the blood;
    Would you o’er evil a victory win?
      There’s wonderful power in the blood.
    • There is power, power, wonder-working power,
        In the blood of the Lamb;
      There is power, power, wonder-working power,
          In the precious blood of the Lamb.
  2. Would you be free from your passion and pride?
      There’s power in the blood, power in the blood;
    Come for a cleansing to Calvary’s tide,
      There’s wonderful power in the blood.
  3. Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow?
      There’s power in the blood, power in the blood;
    Sin-stains are lost in its life-giving flow,
      There’s wonderful power in the blood.
  4. Would you do service for Jesus your King?
      There’s power in the blood, power in the blood;
    Would you live daily His praises to sing?
      There’s wonderful power in the blood.

Have a Blessed Day,
Richard
