Proverbs21:23

Whoso keepth his mouth and tongue keepth his soul from troubles.
I have heard that the LORD gave man one mouth and two ears. That means we should listen two times more than we speak.
Much of our troubles come from us saying more than we should. We add stuff to the truth (embellishing it) to make our selves look bigger than we should.
You have been in situations where you have even embarrassed yourself, and, HAD to cover it up with a lie. You know people now that try to hog or control the conversation with made up stuff. Everyone in the group know what is happening and just wish that person would go away. You really have no respect or belief in what they say.
NOW, think about that person. Do you want to be around folks like that? Do you want to be like that person? Are you?
I knew a Deacon that never talked very much. He would listen to everyone, and, never said bad things about people. When he did speak, it was the truth, it was plain, and folks paid attention to what he had to say.
You and I know people that talk just to hear themselves talk. They know everything about any subject and will not listen to reason.
I'm thinking; What kind of person am I?
What about you? What kind of person are you?

God Bless;

Walter D. Hill D. Min.
