Acquire Wisdom!

 “Acquire wisdom! Acquire understanding! Do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth. “Do not forsake her, and she will guard you; Love her, and she will watch over you.” (Proverbs 4:5–6) 

How sad to see a young man or woman who have failed to heed the instruction of this Proverb.  It is not hard to find the one who turned from these words, who forsook wisdom and understanding.

The easy path is foolishness and ignorance. For a time, they have their reward: relaxation, friends, folly, and the pleasures of sin for a season. In time, time that passes all too quickly, the rewards disappear and “pay day” arrives.

Wisdom and understanding are expensive commodities that pay handsome dividends. They do not come cheap! To master a subject means untold hours of grapling with hypotheses, digging into truths, and wrestling with realities. This is true should your subject be doctrines of the faith or principles of physics.

Today, remember that the investment is worth the cost!
