“These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.” (John 15:11 KJV)
I received several emails yesterday from friends who were discouraged and wanted to share their hearts with me. For those of us who have committed our lives in full time service to Jesus, we need to realize that satan will attack us daily. I remember when I surrendered to be a missionary on October 4, 1998. After Pastor David had prayed for me, he told me that I needed to stay on guard because satan would try to discourage me daily.
We need to realize that we could never generate the kind of joy that Jesus gives to us. It is Jesus living in us that gives us the strength to go on in times of discouragement. Jesus is our Joy. Jesus is Joy! When we feel discouraged and want to give up, it is then that we need to hold on tight to Jesus and allow Him to renew our determination.
When we commit our hearts and lives to Jesus, He fills us with His Joy, a Joy that people can’t take away no matter how hard they try to defeat us. Unless we have His Joy in our hearts, we are unable to help our loved ones and the world. We need to run to Jesus when we are hurting and feel like giving up and allow Him to encourage us. All of us have times when we feel like giving up, but we must hang on because there may be someone that needs the encouragement we have to offer them by using the talents that Jesus has entrusted to us.
We are powerless to fight life’s daily battles, but we have Jesus living is us Who will fight our battles for us. Hold on tight to Jesus and you can stand against the attacks of .

"HEALTH BENEFITS OF BEING OVERWEIGHT" A new report suggests that being overweight is not as harmful as is commonly believed, and actually confers some surprising benefits.
Being five to ten pounds overweight could protect people from ailments ranging from tuberculosis to Alzheimer's disease, research indicates. Those carrying 15 to 25 extra pounds are better able to recover from adverse conditions such as emphysema, pneumonia, and various injuries and infections, states the report.
Thirty to forty pounds of flab could help fend off breast, kidney, pancreatic, prostate, and colon cancer. And an extra fifty pounds on the scale may improve eyesight, reverse baldness, cure the common cold, and reduce global warming.
In general, the report concludes, overweight people are happier, more successful in business, smarter, and friendlier.
The study was funded by a research grant from McDonald's, Burger King, Jack in the Box, Taco Bell, Domino's Pizza, Starbucks, Haagen Dazs, Sara Lee, and Krispy Kreme.
