Psalms 150:6 Let every thing that
hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD
Music can have a profain effect upon our emotions. Then, our emotions
effect our thinking, and, our thinking effects our actions. Thus, we
can understand how music can effect our behavior.
I, for one, love music. I can appreciate and sometimes tolerate many
different kinds of music. I don't like or enjoy some of this modern
stuff with only rhyming word with just a drum beat trying to keep
time.
Our verse today says we are to “praise the LORD”. When we praise
anyone or thing, we express joy in what has been done. To “praise
the LORD” we share what God has done for us. This is done by us in
song, deed, or thought. Our Bible tells us to make a joyful noise
unto the LORD. Singing those old time gospel songs does our heart
good. I say those old gospel songs because their words tell a story
about our Savior. They truly “praise the LORD”.
Do you ever “praise the LORD”?
