Remember, you were in bondage-a slave to sin! sumner wemp

Remember the bondage
"And thou shalt remember that thou was a bondman (slave) in Egypt" 16:`12. It was an "iron furnace" 4:20. Tell your children about it! "Then thou shalt say unto thy son, we were Pharaoh's bondmen (slaves) in Egypt and the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand" 6:21. Remember when you were a slave to sin, in bondage and God delivered you, you got saved? Don't you forget it. It is a powerful thing to tell your children how you were saved. Tell them several times through the years. Make sense? Don't be like the man "who forgetteth what manner of man he was" James 1:24.

Remember the day
"Remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt ALL THE DAYS OF THY LIFE" 16:3. I was saved Mar 28, 1940 and I have not gotten over it nor have I forgotten it all these years. I have often had a birthday party on that day! It would be so good if every Christian remember that day of salvation and celebrate it. Israel has celebrated the Passover all these centuries. Sadly they have really forgotten what it all means and no longer kill a Passover lamb.

Remember the Lord
"Beware lest thou forget the Lord which brought thee forth from out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage" 6:12. How tragic, they forgot the Lord so quickly. Have you forgotten the Lord who brought you out of the bondage of sin? It seems so many have! Take a few minutes and reflect on that moment you got saved. THANK Him for saving you. Thank God you wont end up in hell like the vast majority around you. Rejoice in the Lord."

Father, thank you for bringing us out of the bondage of sin. We remember that day and thank You, in Jesus name.
