Why God Can't Use Some People by Sumner Wemp

Why God can't use some
"So the Lord was with Joshua and his fame was noised throughout all the country. But the children of Israel committed a trespass" and they got their socks beat off them. "And Joshua rent his clothes and fell to the earth upon his face...And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord God, WHY? and the Lord said, get up off your face, Israel has sinned" Josh 6:27- 7:7, 10, 12. Israel had sinned, not Joshua. Sometimes the one we pray for or preach to has sinned and God can't use you until they get right with God. Make sense?

Ask why
It is alright to ask "Why" if we ask inquisitively and not accusatively. If we ask so we can profit from it but not ask why to blame God or someone for what is happening. Make sense?

David sinned
David, "the man after God's own heart" Acts 13:22 sinned and he suffered miserably and he knew why! "My sin is ever before me" Ps 51. He was chastened, his son died, and he responded properly. see Heb 12:3-11.

God used him, WHY?
"Wash me throughly from mine iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions...restore unto me the joy of thy salvation...then will I teach transgressors thy ways and sinners shall be converted unto thee" Ps 51:2-3; 12, 13. He claimed the blame and confessed his shame and sin.

Cleanse yourself
"Wherefore, come out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord and touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you...Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the fear of God" 2 Cor 6:14, 7:1.

Then will God use you.
"Christians are not perfect, just forgiven." "Then will sinners be converted unto thee." Ps 51:13. O how we Christians need to be open with God and perfect holiness in the sight of God. GOD WANTS TO USE YOU! Do you really believe it? Please let Him.

Father, bless Your dear child today and use them to the fullest for Your glory. In Jesus name
